Tommi received her BFA in Dance Performance from East Carolina University. As a Dance faculty member, she teaches all levels of Jazz Dance and is the co-director of the newly formed ECU Jazz and Tap Performing Company. Her professional work includes James Kelly Choreography Project in Chicago (dancer), ECU Summer Theatre (Robber Bridegroom, Peter Pan, and The King and I), North Carolina Theatre (42 Street and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers). Her choreography credits for the ECU/Loessin Playhouse include Dance 1999-2006, Gypsy, A Chorus Line, Hair, The Pajama Game, and Godspell. For the ECU/Loessin Summer Theatre, she has choreographed Ain’t Misbehavin’, Damn Yankees, Always Patsy Cline, Smokey Joe’s Café (director), Footloose and Guys and Dolls. She is the founder/choreographer for Multiple Choices for the Children, a jazz dance benefit for Duke Children’s Hospital, which celebrated its 20 year Anniversary last year.
