Positions

I have a broad interest in evolution, systematics, and taxonomy. Having worked with reptiles and amphibians for most of my career, I recently turned attention to insects, particularly beetles. I use molecular and morphological data to examine relationships among populations, species, and higher-level taxa. Many of my research projects include biogeography as a common thread—as I am intrigued by ecological and evolutionary processes that retain species regionally (endemism) and/or promote diversity. I collaborate with Aaron M. Bauer (Villanova University) and Jason E. Bond (Auburn University) to study intracontinental biogeographical influences on endemicity and species richness in southern African lizards (Bauer) and beetles (Bond).
